In 1985 the Animal Liberation Front raided a laboratory in the University of California, rescuing 468 animals.  Including ‘Britches’ a five-week old macaque monkey who had been separated from his mother at birth, had his eyes sewn shut, and rigged with a sonar device as part of a study into blindness. :( makes me sad
